This year’s celebration will highlight themes from Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, with short video excerpts from the speech followed by 5-minute reflections led by a George Fox University student, an Newberg High School student, and a local community member.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

5:30 PM: DOORS OPEN

6 PM: FORMAL EVENT BEGINS

An interactive program featuring videos, stories/spoken word, reflection,

discussion, and collaborative art installation.

Spanish & ASL interpreting provided

Following the presentation, stay for free food provided by G&W Smoked Caribbean Barbecue and to explore the art exhibit “A Call to Consciences: Reflecting and Embracing the work of Martin Luther King Jr.” featuring artwork by Marvin Eans that includes a timeline of Dr. King’s life and work, artwork inspired by his speeches, and a community interactive mural.
