Pacific Northwest Fine Art and Commissions
“So, the world happens twice–
once what we see it as;
second it legends itself
deep, the way it is.”
William Stafford
Born out of a love for hitting open country roads or crowded city streets sketchbook in hand, my watercolor and ink series features original paintings that capture popular northwest imagery: the aesthetic experience of our beaches, state and national parks, farm fields, the painted hills, pub art, garden art, old barns, the flora and fauna of this beautiful region we call home. Most of my art has a poem or story that came first as I hike around this countryside that became our home nearly twenty years ago. I observe forests, wildflowers, storefronts, signs, crowded shops, still lakes and I daydream. I think about the spirit of animals and what the world looks like through old soulful eyes. What does the ground look like far below as an eagle flies overhead?
I began painting in the summer of 2016 and have been a featured artist at Cliff Creek Cellars, the Newberg Art Walk, Bjornson Winery, The Sage, The Narthex Gallery, The Chehalem Cultural Center, Parrish Gallery, the Plein Air Lavender Paint Out, the McMinnville Short Film Festival, Artists of Yamhill County exhibits, the Art Harvest Studio Tour. I also offer watercolor workshops; please reach out for more information or a home studio gallery tour.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Wishing you peace and love as you journey through this beautiful and complicated world, the way it is.
