Seeds of Hope, a program of the “See Ya Later” Foundation does incredible things. How do I know? Because I myself was once on the receiving end of their generosity and thoughtfulness.

The program aims to encourage and bless local families facing a life-threatening medical illness. The “patient” can be a child or a parent. The criteria is the family resides in Yamhill, Polk or Marion County, has been diagnosed with a life threatening medical illness and if the patient is a parent, that there are children living in the home who are 18 years or younger. We are not a financial need-based organization and seek to serve any family that meets our criteria. Encouragement to families may come in the form of gas or grocery cards, memory making activities, recovery baskets, and more.

In my case, I came to know this remarkable program and people through being faced with my own life altering event. In 2006 at the age of 8 years old I was diagnosed with Leukemia. Residing in Yamhill County my entire life we became connected with the Seeds of Hope through a family friend. Their committee of dedicated, joy-giving volunteers truly helped bring encouragement to my family and me during that difficult time. Through gas cards, gift baskets, and family time at Scotty’s Playhouse they brought beams of light into our lives.

Flash forward over 10 years and I am now the Seeds of Hope program Coordinator, seeking to encourage families who are faced with difficult circumstances. If you know a family who meets our criteria, please refer them to us so we can meet them where they are on their journey and find unique ways to bless them!
