Mezcal Sabores de Mexico is a western-style Mexican restaurant that is family owned and operated by the Fernandez Family- Jimmy, Laura, Mariana and Allan. Our family lived in Sisters, Oregon for 17 years and moved to McMinnville, Oregon in 2018. At the time, Jimmy and I made the move to ensure that we could be close to our kids when they went to college.

On January 6th, 2019, we opened Mezcal Sabores de Mexico filled with passion to share the traditions of our family and the Mexican culture. Mexico is a country of vastly different regions all of which have unique cuisines. Our family is from Cuernavaca, Morelos, a city an hour away from Mexico City. Mexico City is considered the melting pot of Mexico because a variety of cultures come together to create its unique flavors.

At the core of Mezcal Sabores de Mexico is the concept of family. Our family strives to create a homey and comfortable environment where everyone is treated with care and respect. At Mezcal you will grow fond of recipes we grew up enjoying in Mexico and now share at home with our children. Our recipes come from Mariana and Allan’s grandmother’s- Julieta Fuentes and Felicitas Gomez, and Jimmy’s grandmother, Maria Diaz Martinez. Jimmy and I watched as our mother’s worked their magic in the kitchen. As kids, we even served as their sous chefs and dishwashers. We share the culinary traditions with our kids at home and Mezcal, and revel in delight to share our mother’s recipes with the McMinnville Community.

Our Abuela’s [grandmother’s] guide our new ventures, and it is a pleasure to soon share our new business venture with the McMinnville community. Our family is thankful to the lovely community we have made out of customers, friends, and fellow business owners. We are grateful to call you all a part of our Mezcal family.
