Hi Keep it Local Mac/Newberg community!

I’m Karla and I have a passion for wine and travel! I also have a social media and marketing consulting business here in McMinnville.

The reason that I got into helping businesses with their social media is because of all of the travel articles that I wrote and used social media to promote them. I realized that helping others navigate the confusing world of social media would be a helpful thing to offer.

Over the year’s people have said to me, things like “I’d love to travel with you!” In fact, I’ve heard that many times because of all of the wonderful places that I have been able to travel. Well now you can join me!

I’m leading a Wines of Portugal trip in May 2022. It will be 10 days of immersion into wine, food, architecture and culture of Portugal. Imagine walking through family-owned vineyards, sipping wine and sampling local fare while talking with the owner’s themselves over an intimate meal. Portugal is starting to gain notoriety as a wine and culinary destination. It won’t be long before it is discovered by throngs of tourists.

We will visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, learn to make Portuguese cuisine in a hands-on cooking class, visit castles, vineyards, gardens, and quaint neighborhoods. Portugal has a rich heritage of exploration and discovery and gained prominence during the Age of Discovery. Hello New World!

I love exploring new destinations and cultures and believe that travel broadens our perspective and makes us better global citizens. We will have the opportunity to participate in a volunteer activity to give back while we are there. If Portugal is on your bucket list and you don’t like making all the travel arrangements, this might be perfect for you. This will be a small group trip – limit of 20.
